Introducing the Playful Educator's Notebook

Hello and welcome, I’m Jess, the creator and heart behind The Playful Learning Press, and I’m excited to chat about all things early education with you. The Playful Educator’s Notebook will be a place for me to share practical teaching strategies, lesson plans and activities, insights into how to engage young learners, and useful tips and advice for setting up learning spaces.

But for this very first blog post on The Playful Educator’s Notebook I thought I would share my story with you.

My path into the world of teaching began when I started homeschooling my eldest daughter, and I wanted to create vibrant and engaging learning materials tailored to her home education. Little did I know that the enjoyment I got from creating would evolve into The Playful Learning Press, a space dedicated to crafting resources that not only bring joy to home-based learning but have also found a place in classrooms around the world.

Through homeschooling I began to immerse myself in understanding the intricacies of how children learn. Then the joy I found in developing materials for my own child transformed into a commitment to providing quality resources accessible to other homeschoolers and classroom educators also.

Despite not having firsthand classroom teaching experience, through thoughtful conversations and a genuine desire to understand the needs of educators, I’ve tailored my products to cater to individual learners and group settings alike. It’s crucial to me that teachers feel a sense of trust in my resources, and I take pride in the positive feedback and loyalty from those who use my materials to kindle the love of learning in their students.

Creating engaging resources is a huge passion for me, and that passion drives every aspect of the process. From meticulously planning learning content to selecting adorable clip art, each resource is put together with care and attention to detail. I genuinely love what I do, and feel so grateful for the opportunity to support other families and teachers through my resources.

Thank you for joining me on this educational journey, whether you’re a homeschooling parent, a classroom teacher, a childcare provider, or an enthusiast in the world of early learning.

I can’t wait to support you and your learners.
